below: these are some images of the standard laboratory test for soap in biodiesel (or in glcyerol).

You can use the results of this test to help in troubleshooting washing problems, to compare test batches of unwashed biodiesel, or to determine how much acid to add to glycerol byproduct to split up the soap that's found in it. In these photos I'm using smaller quantities of ingredients than called for in the test- I'm measuring 10 ml of biodiesel instead of 100 grams, and using less solvent accordingly because I was being lazy about weighing it. These photos are also missing the blank titration sequence.
